TNT
Crate
This
harmful, explosive Crate can be dangerous, but also useful if used wisely.
They can be touched without harm, but if spun, slided or belly-flopped,
they explode violently. The only way to make a TNT crate explode and live
to tell the story is to jump on it. A timer will appear on the sides,
indicating the amount of seconds before it blows up (from 3 to boom),
giving you a chance to stay clear in the meantime. Numerous TNTs can
explode in a chain reaction, if they're close to each others.
Though the maximum time is usually 3 seconds, there is an exception in
the fight with Ripper Roo in Crash 2 (starting from 6).
Much
rarer are the Big TNTs. The biggest difference between these and the
normal TNTs is that these are obviously much larger. They have the text "BIG TNT"
painted on the sides, and are only ever found in the fight with Ripper Roo
in Crash 1. The blast radius is bigger than the average TNT Crate.
In
the Japanese versions of the games, the TNT Crate has a bomb sign instead
of the TNT acronym. This is simply because Japan uses a different alphabet
and language, so it was easier to just put in a bomb symbol instead.
In the main version of Crash of the Titans, there are modernized
grayish versions of TNTs, with red LEDs that light up upon taking damage,
and exploding a short while after that. In the DS version of Titans, they're
basically the same as the original ones.
The ones from the GBA version
of Titans are grayish and with a dynamite bar icon.
