Basic Crate

This is the most common crate around, and also the one with the least value. These usually just contain small numbers of Wumpa fruit, though there are a few, extremely rare ones with other items.

These crates only get a proper name in Twinsanity (Basic Crate). In The Wrath of Cortex, they're just called "Crates", and they're not even mentioned in earlier games.

In CrashTTR, all of them contain Wumpa Coins, and they can only be broken by being spun or belly-flopped.

In the main version of Crash of the Titans, Crates come in two sizes: normal and giant. Normal Crates can be broken by attacking them, but giant ones can only be destroyed by Titans. They are filled with Mojo and occasionally Wumpa Fruit. In the DS version, they look just like Twinsanity's Basic Crates. In the GBA version, they look like the ones from the main version, but they can sometimes act like Bounce Crates.
