Spyro characters

This is a multi-profile for characters who have appeared in the Crash Bandicoot series, but belong in the separate video-game series entitled Spyro the Dragon. Spyro has made a number of cameos in Crash games, and vice-versa. In Crash Fusion/Purple, the game actually acknowledges the Spyro characters and introduces them as part of the plot (the opposite happens in Spyro Fusion/Orange as well, with the Crash characters).

Notes:
- None of these characters are actually part of the Crash series, despite their appearances in it (which have always just been cameos or non-canonical appearances).
- Each character will be described from the Crash Bandicoot point of view (meaning that all the information found here can be taken from Crash games).

Spyro the Dragon
Classification: Mythological Dragon
Gender: Male
Kind: Good

Spyro is a kind and heroic young dragon who uses all his might to defeat evil. Spyro may be small, but he is strong and athletic. He can spew flames from his nostrils to burn things down and attack his enemies.

Like Crash, Spyro has an arch-nemesis of his own - Ripto. When Ripto and Cortex joined forces, they sent impostors into each hero's realm, making Spyro think that Crash was working for Ripto. However, after Spyro and Crash battled, they came to the conclusion that they were both fighting for the same cause, and that both had been tricked by Ripto and Cortex. Together, they joined forces against the baddies.

Relation to the Crash series: Spyro has had 3 secret demos hidden in Crash games. These were Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2, and Year of the Dragon, in Crash 3, CTR and Crash Bash, respectively. Spyro became part of the plot in Crash Fusion/Purple, which allied both heroes against their arch-enemies. Additionally, Spyro has made a cameo in the GBA version of Crash Nitro Kart as a playable character, and another one in Crash Twinsanity as a gag.

Sparx the Dragonfly
Classification: Dragonfly (Anysoptera)
Gender: Male
Kind: Good

Sparx is to Spyro what Aku Aku is to Crash: a flying companion who follows the hero everywhere, protecting him from hazards until he can no longer take any further damage. He is Spyro's best friend.

Relation to the Crash series: He is a minor character in Crash Fusion/Purple.

The Professor
Classification: Mole (Talpidae family)

Relation to the Crash series: He is a character in Crash Fusion/Purple.

Blink
Classification: Mole (Talpidae family)
Gender: Male
Kind: Good

Blink is a mole, and one of Spyro's friends. He mistook Crash as one of Ripto's minions, accordingly to Ripto and Cortex's evil plot. He didn't physically attack Crash, however. Just verbally. He later apologized after learning the truth about Crash.

Relation to the Crash series: He is a minor character in Crash Fusion/Purple.

Hunter the Cheetah
Classification: Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)
Gender: Male
Kind: Good

Hunter is an athletic archer. This cheetah is friends with Spyro, and he offered Crash some advice when Ripto and Cortex joined forces.

Ripto
Classification: Dinosaur
Gender: Male
Kind: Evil

Ripto is an evil sorcerer who uses a magic sceptre to conduct his spells. He joined forces with Cortex in a mutual self-benefit scheme, allowing both to get rid of their arch-nemesises: Spyro and Crash. This doesn't mean, however, that both always got along fine, seeing as they'd insult each other at times, when something failed.

Relation to the Crash series: He is a character in Crash Fusion/Purple and the main villain along with Cortex.

Spyro the Dragon and all related characters and pictures are (R) and (C) of Vivendi Games.
